Originally from Quebec City, Hélène La Roche holds a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts from the Université de Moncton. She began her career there as a freelance photographer and graphic designer. Her work has been exhibited in Quebec City, Toronto and New Brunswick, and is included in the collections of the Art Bank of New Brunswick, the Canada Council for the Arts Bank and private collections. Her photographs have been published in books and art magazines.
From 1986 to 1999, she was actively involved in the arts community, gaining experience in representation, consulting, organization management and the direction of several artistic events. She worked as a visual arts program officer at the Canada Council for the Arts from 1999 to 2002, and was in charge of visual arts, crafts and architectural research at the Conseil des arts et de lettres du Québec from 2002 to 2023. Since her retirement, she has returned to the arts community as a consultant to artists and organizations.
